Statement of Faith

Bloom’s Board, Staff and Volunteers in the USA, along with our Host Families, attest to being of the Christian faith. Our foundation is that of doing ministry. We consider BOTH our short-term mission trips abroad and our hosting programs as “Mission Trips.”

Therefore, we must be like-minded individuals (a “Mission Team”) who are going on a “Mission Trip” together, with the primary goal of sharing God’s love for orphans through the example of a Christian lifestyle.

In order for our “mission team” to be unified in our goals, we feel it is very important and key for each member to be able to agree to the following foundational Christian statement of personal faith:

  • God has revealed Himself as a Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – three Persons and One God.
  • We believe the Holy Bible is God’s word, personally spoken by God to mankind, for the purpose of revealing who He is; and that it is without error in all issues to which it speaks.
  • Jesus Christ is both fully human and fully God. He took upon Himself our nature, being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary; He died upon the Cross as the pure and perfect sacrifice for the sin of the world; He arose from the dead in the body in which He was crucified; He ascended into Heaven, and He will come again.
  • Man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin, and in that sense is spiritually lost. This is true of all humans. The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through profession of faith in Jesus Christ’s propitiatory death, for the forgiveness of sins.
  • Jesus is currently seated in Majesty, Power, and Authority alongside the Father and He is now accessible to us in both Prayer and Fellowship.

Beyond this, BLOOM does not seek to judge or “qualify” anyone in regards to whether they are Christian or not. We simply state what WE believe, and ask that our “Mission Team” members agree to the same statements. We all attend churches of various denominations of the Christian faith, but we believe in the same statement of faith above.

In addition, we ask that our hosting families include their host child(ren) in prayer time and attendance with the family at their church of choice. However, we do not push religion on any child during the hosting program. The way we share our Christianity is by our EXAMPLE and not by force.
